Continuing the tradition

Every summer, four first year UCONN medical students bike across the country for leukemia research. It's a great cause, and the four of us, Loreen Fournier, Stacy White, Arturo Montano, and Alex Ocampo, are so excited to carry on the tradition.

Yesterday, we bought our one-way tickets to San Francisco. On June 17th, we'll arrive in California with our bikes and gear, and from there we'll spend the next eight weeks biking back to Farmington, CT.

Right now, we're in the process of fundraising. We're mailing letters to family and friends, and we're planning a bunch of events throughout the spring. Our fundraising goal is $50,000, and we hope that you guys can help us reach that goal! The funds we raise will benefit the Lea's Foundation Center for Hematologic Disorders at the UCONN Health Center.

We'll keep you posted on fundraisers and updates!
